01 / The Idea
Made on your box. Not downloaded.
Most content filters are feeds. A service somewhere else watches, decides, and rents you its decisions. This program works the other way around: the box suggests filter moments in your home, and the household owner makes the final filter for the copy they own.
For media you already own
Films and shows stored on the box or on a USB drive. The program works on your household’s own library, not a streaming catalog.
Matched to your exact copy
A filter applies only to the exact edition it was made for, verified byte for byte before every playback. One cut of a film never inherits a filter made for another.
Nothing leaves the house
Listening, timing, review, and playback all happen on the appliance. No cloud account, no upload, no telemetry.
No filter subscription
You never rent someone else’s decisions. The box suggests moments, the household owner accepts or writes the finished filter, and it stays on the box.
02 / How It Works

Ask the box to check a title and it does the work in your home, on your copy. Here is what it does today, in plain terms.
HEAR
It proposes dialogue moments.
Local speech recognition produces timed candidates for words and lines it may have heard. Music, crosstalk, accents, and quiet dialogue remain hard, so the household owner checks the timing and the whole timeline.
SEE
It shortlists visual moments.
Local visual analysis flags possible nudity and sensual scenes for the household owner to check. The shortlist does not certify a clean film or prove it found every moment.
LISTEN
It listens for clues.
Violence, substances, and frightening moments are covered mainly through spoken dialogue today. That coverage is partial, and the box labels it partial.
DECIDE
You make the final call.
Every suggested moment lands on a timeline. The household owner can accept it, adjust the timing, reject it, or add a moment. Nothing becomes a finished filter until the owner accepts or writes it.
Filtered playback runs in the program's own player on the box. Apps and devices that cannot enforce a filter are labelled unfiltered, never quietly treated as safe.
03 / The Controls
Plain words, not numbers.
Every category has four settings, written in words you could read to a ten year old. They control accepted moments; they do not claim the analysis found every moment. You never tune a score or a threshold.
Strong language
Timed dialogue candidates. Owner review required.
Off
Plays as recorded.
Strong only
Mutes accepted moments marked as the harshest words.
Standard
Adds accepted moderate words. Mild words like damn and hell play.
Everything
Mutes every accepted flagged word, even mild ones.
Nudity
Visual shortlist. It cannot show what analysis missed.
Off

The same ladder covers sexual talk, sensual scenes, substances, and frightening moments. Each household profile gets its own settings, and any title can carry its own overrides.

Chosen per category, per profile. A strong word can be muted while a scene is skipped. An adult with the owner sign-in can always choose the original through one explicit confirmation. A profile that requires filters has no such switch.
04 / The Standard
Ready means owner-confirmed.
This is the standard the program will ship against. A filter earns the word ready only when every rule holds, per title and per category. The program is still in testing.
01A suggestion is never a finished filter.
A model run never marks a title ready. Ready means the owner of this box reviewed each category and accepted, adjusted, rejected, or wrote the moments.
02Measured against real playback.
Before this program ships, playback enforcement and timing must be measured against actual playback. A path that has not been measured cannot earn a ready claim.
03Partial is labelled partial.
If a category is covered only in part, the title page says which part and why, in plain words. Violence, substances, and frightening moments carry that label today.
04Not sure means said so.
If the box cannot check a title or a category, it says not supported instead of guessing.
05The player must never pretend.
The standard requires a filtered session to refuse and say why when a title was never checked or the active profile produces no filter action. The unmodified film must never play under a filtered label.

Trained detectors for violence, substances, and frightening moments are in development. Each capability ships only when it meets the standard above.
