Why Pro costs more
Move the index work.
A ZIM package holds readable content. Local AI retrieval also needs an embedding index. Pro can supply that separate package when the catalog lists one.
A verified pack can avoid local re-embedding, but it does not skip package activation, model loading, or readiness checks.

Does the box stop working without a subscription?
No. The hotspot, installed libraries, local files, Media, Connect, and supported local AI remain local to the appliance. A current plan is required only to download new packages from the online catalog.
What does Pro add?
Pro includes Plus catalog access and can download a pre-built embedding package when one is available for that item. Availability varies. Activation, model warm-up, and source readiness still apply, so an embedding offer is not the same as an AI-ready status.
What happens if I cancel?
Packages already installed on your device stay there and remain available offline. Your access to new catalog downloads ends with the active subscription period.
How does delivery work?
Choose an available package and a linked box. When the box is online, it retrieves the authorized package, verifies the declared size and checksum, and publishes it only after installation succeeds. Current delivery uses complete packages rather than delta updates.
